Laura Fernández Wins Costa Rica Presidency with Tough-on-Crime Platform

Laura Fernández of the Sovereign People's Party wins Costa Rica's presidency with over 48% of votes, pledging to continue tough crime policies and strengthen ties with the US. She will be sworn in on 8 May and aims to address rising drug-related violence.
