How The UK Pulse selects, writes and publishes the news you read here.

Where our news comes from

The UK Pulse is a news aggregation and summarisation service. We do not carry out original reporting. Every story on this site begins with a report published by an established news organisation — principally BBC News and The Guardian — which we access through their public news feeds. Each article we publish carries a link back to the original report at the foot of the page, and that original report is always the authoritative version.

How our articles are written

Our articles are written by an automated system that uses artificial intelligence to summarise and rewrite the source report in our own words. The process runs continuously and articles are published automatically, without an individual editor reviewing each one before it goes live. We are telling you this plainly because we think readers are entitled to know how the words in front of them were produced.

What we do not do

• Original reporting: We do not send reporters to events, conduct interviews or cultivate sources.
• Opinion and commentary: We do not publish editorials, columns or endorsements.
• Exclusive claims: We do not present any story as our own scoop. If it is news, someone else reported it first and we credit them.
• Undisclosed sponsorship: We do not publish paid content dressed up as news. Commercial links are marked as such.

Accuracy and its limits

Automated summarisation can introduce errors. A rewritten sentence can lose a qualifier, misplace an emphasis or drop context that mattered in the original. We take that risk seriously, which is why every article links to its source and why we ask readers to treat the original report as definitive on any point of detail. If you believe something we have published is wrong, please tell us — our corrections policy explains what happens next.

The automated checks we do run

• Source availability: We check that the original report is still live. If a source is withdrawn, the article based on it is hidden from the site.
• Duplicate detection: When two outlets cover the same event hours apart, we detect the overlap and avoid publishing the story twice.
• Content review: Articles that are old and have attracted no readership are archived, so that the site is not padded with pages that serve no one.

Who is responsible

Editorial responsibility for everything published on this site rests with The UK Pulse. Because our articles are produced by an automated system rather than by a named journalist, they are attributed to The UK Pulse Editorial Team. We do not invent bylines or attribute articles to people who do not exist.
