A British national has been located alive in Nepal almost a week after catastrophic flooding devastated the country, with the death toll now exceeding 1,000 people.
On Tuesday, a Nepali army spokesperson announced the rescue of 118 Nepalese citizens and one British male as search and recovery operations intensified across the affected region. The identity of the rescued British national has not yet been disclosed.
The scale of the disaster remains severe, with more than 3,900 individuals still unaccounted for. Authorities have launched an urgent DNA identification campaign, requesting blood samples and photographs from families of missing persons to assist in identifying victims.

The catastrophic flash flood struck the Nepal-Tibet border region earlier in the week, triggering one of the deadliest natural disasters in the region in recent years. Families of 33 missing British nationals have begun travelling to Nepal to search for relatives as rescue operations continue.
