Man in Critical Condition After Assault in West Belfast

A man is currently in critical condition at a hospital following an assault that resulted in serious head injuries in west Belfast.

Authorities report that the 30-year-old victim was attacked around 21:00 BST on Friday outside a licensed premises located on Suffolk Road.

Police investigations indicate that the assailant arrived at the scene by taxi, struck the victim with a punch, and subsequently left the area in the same taxi accompanied by another individual.

A 20-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The police were notified of the incident on Saturday and have appealed to the public for any information that could assist their inquiries.
