Amid the despair caused by the twin earthquakes in Venezuela, there are remarkable stories of survival.

In La Guaira, northern Venezuela, BBC international correspondent Yogita Limaye encountered a 12-year-old girl who was rescued from beneath the rubble on Friday after being trapped for more than thirty hours.

Fabiana sustained a fracture in her left foot along with some scrapes and bruises but did not suffer any other injuries.

As of Sunday, the death toll from the earthquakes had reached 3,342, with tens of thousands still reported missing.
