A person is seated against a plain, light-coloured wall with both hands covering most of the face. The person is wearing a dark blue long-sleeved top, a wristwatch, several rings and a bracelet, with medium-length hair falling forward, while soft lighting from the left side of the image creates shadows across the figure and the otherwise empty background.

A new online directory consolidating mental health services across Jersey has been made available to the public, aiming to simplify access to care and support resources for islanders.

The Mental Health Directory aggregates information about a broad spectrum of services intended to support residents' mental health and overall wellbeing. According to health officials, the resource is designed to help people identify what support options exist, locate services suited to their individual circumstances, and obtain assistance for themselves or family members and friends.

Andy Weir, managing director of the Health and Care Service, acknowledged that many people require support at various points in their lives.

"Many of us need support at times. Islanders have told us that finding the right support can be difficult."

Weir emphasized the practical benefits of the new resource.

"The new Mental Health Directory brings together information on mental health services in Jersey in one place, helping people find the support they need. Seeking support can be an important first step, and the directory is designed to make that step easier by helping Islanders understand what help is available and how to access it."

Why the directory matters

The launch addresses a longstanding challenge identified by islanders themselves: the difficulty of navigating fragmented mental health services. By centralizing information about available support in a single online location, the directory removes barriers that may prevent people from seeking help. This consolidation is particularly valuable for those unfamiliar with the mental health system or uncertain about which services might address their specific needs.

What services are included

The directory encompasses a range of mental health services designed to support islanders at different stages of their wellbeing journey. The specific services available through the directory reflect the Health and Care Service's commitment to making mental health support more accessible and transparent across Jersey.
