Harrison Glynne Jones, a six-year-old boy, died after being struck by a van on Mill Road in Llanfairfechan, Conwy county, on Thursday evening after 17:00 BST. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and later released under investigation.

In a tribute shared on a fundraising page, Harrison was remembered as a "cheeky chappy, full of character with a personality that could light up a room", and someone who had been "loved more deeply than words could ever express". According to family accounts reported by media coverage, Harrison had asked to go for a bike ride after dinner, and his father Daryl was only metres behind him when the collision with the white Ford Transit Tipper occurred.

Kate Jones launched the GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover Harrison's funeral and memorial costs, as well as household bills and essential expenses while his parents take time away from work to grieve. By Saturday morning, the campaign was nearing its £20,000 target.

Our family's world was changed forever when Kayleigh and Daryl's beautiful 6-year-old son Harrison was tragically hit by a vehicle outside of his own home and sadly passed away at the scene in front of his family.

Kate Jones described the family's anguish on the fundraiser page:

There are no words that can truly describe the heartbreak and devastation his parents, sisters and our whole family are experiencing. A child should never be taken from their family so suddenly, under such tragic circumstances and we are all struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable loss.

She added:

Harrison's mum and dad are facing the unimaginable task of saying goodbye to their precious little boy, while trying to somehow navigate life without him so we have set up this fundraiser to help Harrison's parents through the difficult weeks and months ahead.

What police are asking for
