A post-mortem examination has established that a newborn baby girl discovered at a property in Sheffield died as a result of stab wounds, police have confirmed following the discovery at a house on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area on Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the address at approximately 06:00 BST after concerns were raised about the infant's safety. Despite immediate intervention by emergency responders, the baby could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seven individuals aged between 15 and 38 have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death.
