A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal collision on the A92 in Fife that claimed the life of a young woman. The incident, which involved three vehicles, occurred near the Luthrie junction at approximately 01:00 on Sunday.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman who was travelling as a passenger in a white Audi A3, was declared dead at the scene. The Audi's driver was transported to Ninewells Hospital where they received treatment for injuries sustained in the crash. The collision also involved a grey Volvo V40 and a white Honda HRV, though occupants of these vehicles escaped serious harm.
This incident is part of a concerning pattern of fatal road collisions across Scotland in recent weeks. Three people were arrested following a fatal multi-vehicle crash on the A8 near Edinburgh Airport, in which a 58-year-old woman died, while a three-vehicle collision on the A68 near St Boswells in the Scottish Borders resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man.

We are carrying out extensive inquiries and we are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward. In addition, anyone with relevant dashcam footage which may assist is asked to contact police.
