A 38-year-old man has died in hospital following a three-vehicle collision on the A68 in the Scottish Borders on Saturday evening. The crash, which occurred near St Boswells at approximately 21:00, involved a white Ford Transit, a green Suzuki SX4 and a white Honda ZR-V.
Emergency services responded to the scene, but the driver of the Ford Transit was pronounced dead in hospital after treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.
Other casualties
Two other drivers were injured in the incident. The 62-year-old female driver of the Suzuki SX4 sustained serious injuries, while the 66-year-old male driver of the Honda ZR-V experienced minor injuries.
Road closure and investigation
The A68 was closed following the crash to enable collision investigators to examine the scene and gather evidence. The road remained shut for more than seven hours before reopening at approximately 04:40 on Sunday morning.
