69-year-old dies in single-vehicle crash on Dundee street

A 69-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle collision in Dundee on Friday morning.

The crash involved a silver Hyundai IX35 and occurred on Johnston Avenue, between Strathmore Avenue and Clepington Road, at approximately 08:10. Emergency services attended the scene, and the driver was transported to hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

A 63-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also taken to hospital for medical assessment following the incident.

Investigation and road closure

Police closed Johnston Avenue to allow crash investigation officers to examine the scene and gather evidence. The road remained sealed off for several hours before being reopened at around 12:15pm.

Officers are seeking information from members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage of the incident. Anyone with details is urged to contact police.
