18-year-old dies in Fraserburgh motorbike and car collision

An 18-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a Volkswagen Transporter on Watermill Road in Fraserburgh on Thursday afternoon. Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.

An 18-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash involving his motorbike and another vehicle in Aberdeenshire. The collision occurred on Watermill Road in Fraserburgh at approximately 15:10 on Thursday, according to Police Scotland.

The incident involved a Lexmoto LXR 125 motorbike and a Volkswagen Transporter. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen Transporter did not sustain injuries requiring hospital care.

Emergency services closed Watermill Road following the collision. The road remained shut to traffic for several hours before being reopened at around 23:30 the same day.

Police appeal for information

Sergeant Dave Cooper of Police Scotland issued a statement expressing sympathy to those affected.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.

Officers are seeking assistance from the public to establish the full circumstances of the crash. Sgt Cooper appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward, and asked drivers who were in the area at the time and have dash-cam recordings to contact police with any footage that might aid the investigation.
