The body of a Scottish woman was found inside a suitcase in an abandoned building in Athens, Greece, last month, prompting a multi-agency investigation. Police Scotland confirmed they are liaising with authorities after the woman was reportedly discovered by a homeless man in the Kypseli district.

The 38-year-old is thought to have travelled from Greece to Cyprus last month, state broadcaster ERT reports. They said Interpol data had helped to identify the 38-year-old who is believed to have died between five and seven days before the discovery.
