A 10-year-old girl has died in hospital days after a road crash in the Republic of Ireland in which her mother was killed. The collision between a car and a flatbed van happened after 16:30 local time on the R162 at Corclare, Shercock in County Cavan on Friday.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, died at the scene. Gardaí (Irish police) have now confirmed the girl, who was a passenger in the car, died at Temple Street Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
Gardaí have appealed to any witnesses to come forward and have renewed that appeal for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
