Welsh Teens Detained in Thailand
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed it is "supporting two British nationals detained in Thailand" following the arrest of two Welsh teenagers. The incident has prompted a police investigation into the "circumstances" surrounding their trip.
South Wales Police announced on Friday evening that the 17-year-olds from Cardiff had been arrested but stated it has "limited information" regarding the case. The force is actively working to gather more details as the situation develops.
"We understand this is a very concerning time for the families and wider community,"the police said in a statement.
The FCDO has been in contact with Thai authorities to monitor the situation closely. Officers are continuing to collect information to better understand the context of the arrests.
