Lisa Faulkner Shares Breast Cancer Recovery Update
Actress and presenter Lisa Faulkner has disclosed that she is in recovery following surgery for breast cancer performed two weeks ago.
The Celebrity Masterchef winner informed her Instagram followers that she had received her post-operative results and stated:
"It's all good, they've got everything out, so it's all clear and I just need some radiotherapy in a few weeks."
Faulkner revealed she was diagnosed at the "very early stages of breast cancer" and underwent "quite a big op," noting that she still has "quite a bit of healing to do. But I'm good, I'm well. And feeling so much better."
Addressing her fans, she emphasized the importance of screening:
"I'm so grateful that I went for my mammogram. Don't put them off, go, because they found this - without this mammogram, it wouldn't have been picked up."
Faulkner, aged 54, expressed appreciation for the healthcare system:
"I want to say thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact that we can have these mammograms, and we can get treatment early."
Career and Personal Life
The actress is recognized for her roles in television series such as EastEnders, Holby City, and Spooks.
Among those offering support was former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite, who wrote:
"Love you Lise. You've got this my darling."
In addition to acting, Faulkner is a food writer and is married to chef John Torode. The couple co-hosted the ITV cooking show John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen.
John Torode was dismissed from the BBC show Masterchef last year following an allegation that he used "an extremely offensive racist term," which was upheld. Torode stated he had "no recollection" of the incident.
