Manchester City have secured winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton on a deadline day transfer, with the deal structured at £60m guaranteed plus £5m in performance-related add-ons. The 26-year-old Senegal international has committed to a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Ndiaye expressed his satisfaction with the move in a statement following the agreement.

According to transfer coverage, the move was expected to be completed on Tuesday after Ndiaye was granted permission to undergo his medical examination. The signing represents City's response after their pursuit of alternative targets, with one report indicating the deal was lined up as an alternative after City's bid for Cody Gakpo was rejected.
How the Tottenham move collapsed
Tottenham had reached an agreement with Everton on Friday evening for Ndiaye's transfer, with Brazilian forward Richarlison expected to move in the opposite direction. However, the deal unravelled when Richarlison was unable to reach personal terms with his former club, preventing Spurs from proceeding with the Ndiaye acquisition and allowing City to step in.
The transfer came after Tottenham had been in advanced talks to sign Ndiaye from Everton, with Richarlison set to return to the Toffees. Manchester City had also been monitoring the situation, and when the Spurs deal fell through, they moved quickly to secure the winger.
City's summer spending spree continues
The Ndiaye acquisition forms part of Manchester City's ambitious transfer window activity. On the same deadline day, City agreed to pay a joint-British transfer record fee of £125m for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, the Argentine international who will become the club's eighth summer signing.
City's summer arrivals also include Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Allan Elias, Jeremy Monga and Pierce Charles. Earlier in the window, City completed the £85.6m signing of 18-year-old Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille on a five-year deal, following departures of key players.
Ndiaye's Everton record
During his time at Everton, Ndiaye made 74 appearances and scored 21 goals since joining the club from Marseille in 2024. Prior to the transfer window, Ndiaye had rejected multiple contract offers from the Toffees, signalling his desire to pursue a move away from Goodison Park.
Everton's valuation
Everton had initially valued Ndiaye at approximately £80m and were not under immediate pressure to sell given his contract ran until 2029. The eventual fee of up to £65m represented a reduction from that initial asking price, though the club ultimately accepted City's offer as the transfer deadline approached.
