Investigation into Woman's Death in Glasgow
Police are currently treating the death of a woman at a block of flats in Glasgow as a murder investigation.
Officers responded to Kirkton Avenue in Knightswood at approximately 20:00 on Tuesday after receiving reports expressing concern for a woman.
Joanne Newlands, aged 41, was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are providing support to her family during this difficult time.
A 49-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death on Wednesday but was subsequently released pending further inquiries.
Police Scotland has stated that an "extensive" investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Joanne's death in the days leading up to the incident.
The police have appealed to the public for any information, emphasizing that details "no matter how insignificant" could be crucial and should be reported promptly.
An online portal has been established to facilitate direct submission of information from the public to officers.
