A woman discovered dead in a bin bag in Stanley Park, Anfield on 28 August remains unidentified a month after her body was found. Detectives have revealed she was aged between 60 and 80, malnourished, and suffered from multiple serious health conditions including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), osteoporosis and arthritis. A murder inquiry is ongoing, with investigators appealing for the public's help to establish her identity.
The body was located in bushes within the walled garden area of Stanley Park at approximately 5.25pm after a member of the public made contact with police. A post-mortem examination took place on 29 August, though the results have been withheld for investigative reasons.
Why has identification proved so difficult?
Despite extensive investigative work, identifying the woman has presented significant challenges. Forensic tests have produced a DNA profile, but according to reports from a national broadcaster, it has not matched the UK's national database. Detectives have also been unable to use dental records because the woman had no teeth, either top or bottom.

The woman is described as white, approximately 5ft 2in (1.57m) tall, with a slight build and strawberry blonde hair. She was wearing a distinctive cerise pink Nike T-shirt at the time she was found. Police have released an image of a similar garment in hopes that someone might recognise it and provide information about her.
What health conditions did she have?
The victim suffered from multiple medical conditions that may have affected her vulnerability. In addition to COPD, she had osteoporosis and arthritis. She was also malnourished at the time of her death, though detectives have not yet determined whether this resulted from neglect or other circumstances related to her age and health status.

The investigation has involved substantial police effort. Investigators have conducted house-to-house inquiries, reviewed CCTV footage and carried out other extensive enquiries across the area. According to reports from a national broadcaster, more than 120 people have contacted police with information, and more than 40 possible names have been put forward. Additionally, police have received 160 public reports about the case.
Officers have now spoken to more than 900 people in the local area and eliminated 126 women from the inquiry. A mobile police station was established in Stanley Park to gather information for the murder investigation. The investigation is being supported by the National Crime Agency and the national Missing Persons Unit.
Detective Superintendent Wilson described the scope of the search:
"We are looking at Anfield and beyond. We have made inquiries with people that are outside of the Merseyside region. We just don't know at this stage."She added that detectives were
