A 32-year-old suspect was released on bail pending further enquiries by police. A 58-year-old man who was also taken into custody has been released without conditions.

The incident is part of an ongoing pattern of violent crime affecting the region. In June, a man was seriously injured in a stabbing on Kinnaird Avenue in north Belfast, which prompted local representatives to speak out against violence in their communities. More recently, three men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in north Belfast, demonstrating the persistent challenge posed by violent offences across the area.
