Two men have been sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison after carrying out a coordinated campaign of arson attacks on three separate residences across south Wales, all within a single six-hour period on 1 June 2026. Yasin Hussain, 18, and Adam Taylor-Morris, 19, pleaded guilty to three counts of arson with intent to endanger life at Cardiff Crown Court, with sentencing delivered on 2 November 2026. According to BBC News, one of the attacks saw a petrol-filled bottle ignite on impact, creating a fire that could have caused serious injury or death.

The pair, both described as having no fixed abode, were transported to Wales from Scotland by Danni Taylor, the sister of Adam Taylor-Morris, on the morning of the attacks. Rather than remaining in one location, they travelled between targets using taxis, suggesting a deliberate plan to strike multiple properties across different areas.

How did the first attack unfold?

The initial incident occurred at Porcher Avenue in Glyncoch, Pontypridd, at approximately 04:00 BST. The occupants were jolted awake when a brick smashed through their living room window. Hussain and Taylor-Morris then attempted to throw a Molotov cocktail through the damaged window, but the bottle missed its intended target and instead shattered on the ground outside the property. The two men fled immediately after the failed attack.

What happened at the second location?

Around three hours later, at approximately 07:00, the pair travelled by taxi to the Caerphilly area and targeted a home on Wallis Drive. They hurled a brick through a window before launching a glass bottle filled with petrol through the opening. This time the incendiary device ignited upon impact, setting the interior alight. South Wales Police confirmed that the fire was subsequently extinguished, though the property sustained damage from both the flames and the attack itself.

What was the nature of the third attack?

The final assault took place at approximately 09:00 on the same day at a property on Pearson Crescent in Glyncoch. In a notable escalation, Taylor-Morris filmed Hussain as he inserted a Molotov cocktail through an open living room window, deliberately documenting the act. The bottle ignited immediately, engulfing the room in flames. This third attack demonstrated a brazen disregard for concealment, with one of the perpetrators recording evidence of their own crime.

What did investigators say about the attacks?

Detective Constable Connor Michael of South Wales Police characterised the incidents as deliberate and dangerous acts with potentially catastrophic consequences.

These were deliberate and dangerous arson attacks which could have had devastating consequences, including serious injury or loss of life.
He added that
the sentences handed down reflect the severity of the offenders' actions, and we hope they serve as a warning that such reckless behaviour will not be tolerated.
According to Nation Cymru, South Wales Police acknowledged the assistance provided by Police Scotland and Gwent Police in bringing the investigation to a successful conclusion.

What is the status of the third defendant?

Danni Taylor, 24, from Perth and Kinross in Scotland, has admitted to participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group. Her involvement extended beyond merely driving the two men to Wales; she was complicit in the planning and execution of the coordinated attacks. As reported by Nation Cymru, Taylor will face sentencing at a future date, with no hearing date yet confirmed.

What happens next?

Danni Taylor remains awaiting sentencing for her role in facilitating the attacks. The court has not yet scheduled her hearing, leaving the final chapter of this case unresolved. The sentences imposed on Hussain and Taylor-Morris represent a significant custodial penalty, reflecting the gravity of launching incendiary devices at occupied homes where families were present.
