The remains of a newborn infant have been discovered along a shoreline in north Wales, prompting an urgent appeal from authorities for the child's mother to come forward.
Officers from North Wales Police are treating the discovery with particular sensitivity, recognizing that the mother may be in a state of extreme vulnerability. A member of the public made the discovery on the Menai Strait shoreline adjacent to Siliwen Road on Sunday at approximately 16:55 BST.
During a formal press conference, Fiona Giraud, Director of Midwifery and Women's Services at Betsi Cadwaladr health board, delivered an emotional direct appeal to the mother, emphasizing that the priority is her wellbeing rather than any criminal investigation at this stage.
