A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following a serious assault in north Belfast. Paul Mackin Jr, aged 44, died from his injuries after the attack inside Eithne House on Duncairn Parade on Monday.
Police said Mackin Jr died in hospital on Wednesday evening. A 41-year-old man, previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and who remained in custody, has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 40-year-old, arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of attempted murder, was released on bail. A 32-year-old, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released unconditionally.
