A murder investigation has been opened following the deaths of two individuals in a residential fire in Grangetown, Middlesbrough.
Officers from Cleveland Police attended the property during the early morning hours after being alerted to the incident.
The force stated it is examining the circumstances surrounding the fire while maintaining an investigative approach that does not exclude potential connections to organised criminal activity at the present time.
