A 16-year-old has made an appearance in court after being charged with possessing bomb-making supplies that he obtained through internet purchases.
The teenager faces charges of possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances and possession of prohibited weapons. The charges follow a security alert that occurred in Omagh on Monday.
During proceedings at Dungannon Magistrates' Court, the court heard evidence that the defendant had acquired potassium nitrate and sulphur powder via online retailers.
Following a report to authorities, police officers executed a search warrant at the teenager's residence, including his bedroom. The search uncovered the chemical substances alongside three improvised explosive devices, a taser, a stun gun, a combat uniform, and materials believed to be intended for the manufacture of counterfeit currency and fraudulent bank cards.
