A 45-year-old man has admitted to murdering his wife after her body was discovered in a freezer at their home in West Yorkshire. David Barraclough entered a guilty plea to the charge on the day his trial was scheduled to begin at Leeds Crown Court.
Carolann Barraclough, aged 37, was found dead at a property in Horbury on 5 March. Her husband, David Barraclough, had been charged with her murder and was facing trial proceedings at the court.
What happens next in the case?
Rather than proceed to a full trial, Barraclough, who resides on Ken Churchill Drive in Horbury near Wakefield, changed his plea to guilty when the trial commenced. Judge Andrew Stubbs indicated that the matter would be scheduled for a further hearing on Wednesday, at which point he would determine when sentencing would take place.
