A man in his 80s has died in a house fire at a terraced property in Wood Green, north London. Emergency services attended the blaze on Granville Road at 22:15 BST on Saturday, where they discovered the man had perished at the scene. A woman who was in the building managed to evacuate before firefighters arrived.
The London Fire Brigade reported that the first floor and approximately half of the roof of the two-storey residence were destroyed by the flames. Crews brought the fire under control by 23:30 BST. The exact cause remains under investigation by both the Metropolitan Police and the London Fire Brigade.
