A 28-year-old man accused of killing former MP Ann Widdecombe in July has been brought before Westminster Magistrates' Court on an additional charge of preparing terrorist acts, with allegations that include targeting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
Joshua Kerry appeared in person at the court, where he confirmed only his address in Rotherham and his date of birth. He was dressed in a grey sweatshirt and trousers and was accompanied by four custody officers in the dock.
The court heard that Kerry faces a charge of preparing terrorist acts spanning the period from 31 May 2024 to 8 July 2026. The allegations centre on conducting research into targets and travelling to, as well as attempting to gain entry to, the residence of Nigel Farage.
In April 2025, damage was discovered to the front door of Farage's home in south London, where his partner resides. A bottle of lighter fluid was found in the porch of the property.
What happens next?
Kerry was remanded in custody and ordered to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday for further proceedings in connection with the charges.
