A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in which a cyclist was struck by a vehicle in Aberdeen on Friday evening.
The collision occurred near the junction of Rousay Drive and Lang Stracht, in the vicinity of a Tesco supermarket, at approximately 18:00. The 19-year-old cyclist was hit by a white BMW car and sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Police responded to an emergency call at the scene and subsequently arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident. Following investigation, he has been formally charged with attempted murder.
The suspect is due to appear before Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday to face the charge. Authorities continue to seek additional information from members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or have other relevant details about the incident.
