A man in his sixties has admitted to 60 criminal offences against his wife, including multiple counts of rape, assault by penetration, and administering a substance with intent to commit an offence. The admissions came at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where the defendant acknowledged the charges spanning more than 20 years of abuse.
The victim attended the hearing from the public gallery, accompanied by family members who provided her support throughout the proceedings. The defendant, who cannot be identified to preserve his wife's legal anonymity, became visibly emotional as he entered guilty pleas to the numerous charges, repeating the word guilty repeatedly.
