Kieran Hayler, the ex-husband of Katie Price, has been cleared of all charges following his trial at Lewes Crown Court. The 39-year-old was accused of rape and sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl in West Sussex during 2016.
According to BBC News, a jury found Hayler not guilty on three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He was also acquitted of four alternative counts of sexual activity with a child.
The verdict concludes proceedings that began when Hayler faced the serious allegations at the Crown Court in Lewes. Throughout the trial, the case attracted significant attention, particularly given Price's public profile and her involvement in the proceedings.
During the trial, Price had testified at Lewes Crown Court, stating she had warned others about Hayler's conduct towards a teenager years before charges were brought. She described concerns she had raised regarding his behaviour in the period preceding his arrest and prosecution.
The acquittal means Hayler will not face any criminal penalties related to these allegations. The case has now concluded with the jury's decision to clear him of all counts presented during the trial.
