Firefighters are responding to a significant fire at an abandoned structure in County Antrim, with residents in the vicinity advised to take protective measures. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has instructed people living nearby to keep windows and doors shut as crews work to contain the incident.
The fire is located on Cloughfern Avenue within Monkstown Industrial Estate. The scale of the emergency response underscores the severity of the situation, with seven fire appliances, one aerial appliance and a command support unit deployed to the scene. A total of 53 operational personnel have been mobilised to tackle the blaze.
