Officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a property on Station Road in Thurnby shortly before 00:30 BST on Thursday. Upon arrival, police found that the man, aged in his 50s, and the 15-year-old boy had both sustained multiple stab wounds inflicted by masked assailants who forced their way into the home. Both victims remained in critical condition at the hospital at the time of the police statement.

The man's wife and the boy's mother, a woman in her 40s, sustained minor injuries to her hand and shoulder during the assault. Three additional children who were present in the property at the time of the incident escaped injury.
