A 17-year-old motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle crash on a coastal road in Aberdeenshire. Kayden Thompson was riding a black Honda CB500 motorcycle when the incident occurred on the B9031 between Macduff and Fraserburgh near Pennan at approximately 17:30 on Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.
His family released a statement expressing their grief at his loss.
We are devastated at the loss of our deeply loved son, brother, grandson and nephew Kayden.They continued,
He will be missed by all who knew him, especially family. Kayden, also known as Kayda and K: forever 17 and forever Dawn and Alan's little boy.
The tragedy adds to a concerning pattern of young people losing their lives on Scottish roads. Earlier this year, 17-year-old Kerr Paterson died in a Fife crash, prompting similar appeals for road safety awareness among young drivers and riders.
