A yellow weather alert was issued for portions of Northern Ireland on Sunday as meteorologists warned of potential disruption to travel and the risk of flooding in isolated locations.
The Met Office's yellow-level warning remained in effect until 14:00 BST and cautioned residents about heavy downpours expected to develop across the affected areas.
Forecasters anticipated that between 20-40mm of precipitation could fall within a compressed timeframe of just several hours in some locations, creating conditions conducive to surface water accumulation and transport delays.
In addition to travel concerns, the alert flagged the possibility that a small number of residential and commercial properties could experience flooding as a result of the intense rainfall.
The precipitation began to move away from western regions around midday, with clearer skies and increased sunshine gradually replacing the wet conditions as the system progressed eastward.
