Jonathan Anderson will show Dior's Fall 2027 collection in Dublin on 4 December, marking his first show on the island of Ireland and the house's first in Ireland. The show will take place in Trinity College, Dublin, and will be hosted in the university's Old Library.
Anderson is the first designer since Christian Dior to lead both the women's and men's lines at the world-renowned French fashion house. The Northern Ireland-born designer said in a social media post that he was "so excited and so proud" to be able to show the collection at Ireland's oldest university.
In a statement Anderson said: "Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal.
"To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour."
The fashion brand said the collection would be "unveiled against the backdrop of the university's Old Library, an 18th-century building housing a world-class academic and cultural institution".
"This is the first time that Jonathan Anderson has presented a collection in Ireland, and also the first time the House has shown there."
Who is Carmel Snow and why is she mentioned?
Dior's announcement also quotes Dublin-born Carmel Snow, who was editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar in New York from 1934 to 1958, and championed the concept of "the well-dressed woman with a well-dressed mind".
Speaking about his first collection, Snow said to Christian Dior in 1947: "Your dresses have such a new look."
