Fans of the television series Gavin and Stacey have a unique opportunity to own a significant piece of the show's legacy, as the residence of Rob Brydon's beloved character, Uncle Bryn, is now on the market. One of its bedrooms is notably recognized as Uncle Bryn's state-of-the-art gym, a feature familiar to viewers of the series.

Location and Cultural Significance

The property is situated directly opposite Gwen's house, a frequent stop for Bryn, who was often seen dropping by for an omelette and occasionally a mint Baileys. This house also holds significance as the setting where Bryn famously "surfed the world wide web" to provide Gavin with directions from Barry to Essex during the first series.

Beyond family gatherings, Bryn's home served as a social hub where he entertained Gavin's friends with mini burgers and games of Subbuteo before nights out in Cardiff, notably avoiding mention of a fishing trip. The house also played a central role in the 2019 Christmas special, where Bryn acted as host and head chef for a large dinner accommodating more than 13 guests.

Market Details and Agent Insights

Chris Davies Estate Agents have posted a virtual tour of the property on social media. Sarah Lawrence, the branch manager, commented on the listing:

"There's a lot of potential with this property. We did kind of put the asking price up ever so slightly because it's such a desirable kind of famous home, but it's not by much at all as we still wanted to keep it really realistic. We just kind of priced it based on comparable from the area."

The agents noted that the Gavin and Stacey series has significantly contributed to tourism in the area, with Dave's Coaches operating bus tours that take visitors to various filming locations around the town.

Related Property Sales and Ownership

Just three months prior, avid Gavin and Stacey fan Lisa Molloy and her husband Chris acquired Doris's house, located across the street. Their purchase included some original furniture featured in the series when Gavin and Stacey lived there. Lisa expressed her enthusiasm:

"We're massive fans and we were fortunate enough to be able to buy the property and feel very privileged and honoured to own it. You still can't believe the actors that have been in the property."

Property Condition and Investment Potential

Sarah Lawrence indicated that, compared to Doris's house, Uncle Bryn's home requires modernization but represents a promising investment opportunity. It is important to note that the state-of-the-art gym equipment seen in the show is not included in the sale.
