The Duchess of Sussex is in discussions to make a return to acting through a potential role in the Netflix comedy series The Gentlemen, according to reports. The talks remain at an early stage, but if they progress, this would mark Meghan's first major acting project since her marriage to Prince Harry.
The Gentlemen, created by filmmaker Guy Ritchie, follows a duke who transforms into a drug baron. The series stars actor Theo James and has previously featured performances from Hugh Bonneville and Vinnie Jones. Much of the filming for the show's earlier seasons took place in the Cotswolds, a region in England where Prince Harry and Meghan are rumoured to be establishing a residence upon their return to the United Kingdom later this month.
The specific details surrounding the discussions and the nature of any role that might be offered to Meghan have not been disclosed. As the couple prepares for their relocation, their children are set to begin school in the UK in September.
This potential acting opportunity comes as the Sussexes continue to develop their media presence through various projects. Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan's Archewell production company announced a Netflix film based on Major Adam Jowett's account of British troops defending Musa Qala in Afghanistan, reflecting Harry's longstanding connection to military service and veterans' causes.
The Duchess will not be attending any of the upcoming Invictus Games events.
