Trump's Financial Gains from Cryptocurrency and Business Ventures

US President Donald Trump reported earning more than $1 billion (£750 million) last year through various business dealings involving cryptocurrency, according to his mandatory financial disclosure for 2025.

In a detailed 927-page report, Trump disclosed $635 million in royalties from a Trump-branded meme coin, which notably declined in value after its launch three days before he assumed office.

Additionally, he reported over $500 million in income from World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency company established by his sons alongside the children of his special envoy, Steve Witkoff.

Beyond cryptocurrency, Trump also generated millions from real estate ventures, as well as from Trump-themed merchandise including Bibles, watches, and other items. Despite these earnings, the White House has denied that the President is profiting from his position.

Details of Income and Family Involvement

A significant portion of Trump's income originated from transactions with World Liberty Financial, a company from which he and his family members receive 75% of the proceeds.

This financial disclosure marks a notable increase compared to Trump's 2024 report, where he declared over $600 million in income.

White House Response to Ethical Concerns

White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly dismissed any implications of ethical issues related to these earnings.

"Neither the President nor his family has ever engaged - or will ever engage - in conflicts of interest,"

she stated.

"All actions by President Trump and his administration are taken in the best interest of the American people – and any so-called 'reporters' pushing otherwise are recycling the same, tired, false narrative that Democrats and the legacy media have been pushing for a decade."

Kelly further emphasized that Trump has proudly positioned the United States as "the crypto capital of the world."
