The sixth live weekend of Strictly Come Dancing's 2026 series arrives on 31 October with a Halloween Spooktacular, as 11 surviving celebrity-professional pairs perform paranormal-themed routines in hopes of impressing the judges and voting viewers. According to The Guardian, the show will culminate in a historic first: a triple dance-off featuring the three couples with the lowest combined scores from judges and public votes, with judges then voting to eliminate rather than save.

The competition has already seen significant drama this season. According to TV Guide, Shaun Wright-Phillips and his professional partner Alexis Warr were eliminated on 25 October after losing the dance-off to Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu by three votes to one. Last week's show saw the first perfect 10s of the series awarded—one to Delta Goodrem and two to Tabby Stoecker, who led the leaderboard with 37 points according to the Independent, while Goodrem scored 34 after returning from a rib injury.

The Halloween show will feature a diverse range of dances, with some routines appearing twice on the night. Two tangos and two Viennese waltzes will be performed across the evening, alongside several specialty numbers. Lacey Turner will perform a Charleston, Cach Mercer an Argentine tango, and Will Best a Couple's Choice routine.

Who faces elimination danger?

Bookmakers have identified Bethany Antonia as the favourite for elimination, followed by Lawrence Robb in second place and Jaime Winstone in third. The Halloween characterisation and themed choreography may prove decisive in determining which couples survive the public vote and judges' scores.

What makes this Halloween show historic?

For the first time in Strictly history, tomorrow's results show will feature a triple dance-off rather than the traditional format. The three couples with the lowest combined totals from judges' scores and public votes will perform against one another, with judges then voting to eliminate one couple. This departure from the standard dance-off format adds an unprecedented layer of tension to the Halloween episode.

The results show is scheduled for Sunday, 1 November at 7:10pm on BBC One. According to Yahoo News UK, Sir Ian McKellen will voice a group dance in the results show, which will also feature a performance by Becky Hill.

What dances and themes can viewers expect?

The evening promises elaborate Halloween-themed choreography, with celebrities undergoing terrifying transformations to perform paranormal routines. The production team has prepared specialty dances and themed staging to create a spooky atmosphere. Judges' scoring paddles are expected to take on pumpkin, ghost and bat shapes, while the three hosts will acknowledge the occasion with black and red outfits.

The show begins at 6:30pm on BBC One, with live coverage and analysis provided throughout the evening. Viewers are invited to participate in Halloween-themed entertainment while watching the couples compete, creating an interactive experience alongside the main competition.

What happens next?

Following the Halloween special, the results show on 1 November will determine which couples advance and which face elimination through the historic triple dance-off format. The competition continues to narrow as the series progresses toward its conclusion, with each week bringing fresh challenges and eliminations.
