What is Tangled Up in Blue about?

Quentin Tarantino, known for directing Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, is said to portray a wealthy benefactor in this drama, which is both set and filmed in Wales.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, Adams, who grew up in Porthcawl, pitched the project to Tarantino after collaborating with him on Adams' previous film Only What We Carry.

The film’s title is derived from Bob Dylan’s 1975 song from the album Blood on the Tracks. The cast also includes Jason Isaacs, Sofia Boutella, and Welsh actors Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell, Siwan Morris, and Karen Paullada.

Where has the cast been spotted?

Tarantino and Minogue were seen filming at Newton Church and Saltwater Inn in Porthcawl. The director was also observed enjoying a drink with the film crew at the Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff on 19 June.

Helen Harvey, from Swindon, was staying at the hotel with friends when she noticed Tarantino reading at a table surrounded by a "stack of books."

"I went back to my group and said 'there's a bloke in there who looks like Quentin Tarantino'," she said. "My friend said they'd heard he was staying at the hotel so I went back just to say I love your films, I'm a big fan."

Harvey described Tarantino as "gracious and charming," noting that he thanked her for the kind words.

"It was a lovely interaction and I was really pleased that he was so kind when I disturbed his reading," she added. Harvey also mentioned telling him she had introduced her daughter to his films, with the Kill Bill movies being their favourites.

In a social media post, the fan wrote: "Did not expect to meet one of the greatest on a Monday evening in Cardiff."

Additional background on Tarantino and Minogue

Tarantino, aged 64, recently relocated to the UK as he develops a "swashbuckling comedy" play set in 1830s Europe, titled The Popinjay Cavalier, which is scheduled to premiere in early 2027. This will mark his debut as a theatre writer and director, following his previous statements about retiring from filmmaking after completing ten films.

Pop icon Kylie Minogue, 58, has strong Welsh roots. Her family originally came from Maesteg in Bridgend county before emigrating to Australia during the 1950s.

Over the years, Minogue has spoken about her Welsh heritage and noted that performing in Cardiff holds special significance for her, as she even knows some phrases in Welsh.
