Labrinth Distances Himself from Euphoria and Music Industry

Musician Labrinth has publicly distanced himself from the television series Euphoria, for which he composed the music, declaring that he is "done with this industry."

The British artist was responsible for writing the score and several songs for the first two seasons of the widely acclaimed teen drama. Last year, HBO, the network that broadcasts the show, announced that Hans Zimmer would join Labrinth as a composer for the upcoming third season.

In a strongly worded Instagram post on Friday, Labrinth criticized both the show and Columbia Records, the label that releases the soundtrack, concluding his message with:

"I'm out. Thank you and good night."

has reached out to Labrinth's representatives for further comment and has also contacted Columbia Records and HBO for their responses.

At this time, it remains unclear whether Labrinth's compositions will still be featured in the third season or what specifically has led to the apparent rift between Labrinth and the Euphoria production.

Recent Public Appearances and Collaborations

Last weekend, Labrinth appeared at Paris Fashion Week alongside Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, who shared teasers of the new season's footage.

Labrinth has been widely praised for his contribution to the show's atmospheric score and has also written songs for the series, including "All For Us," which became a chart hit and earned him an Emmy Award.

In July 2025, Labrinth welcomed Zimmer's involvement in the music for season three, stating:

"Another chapter in the Euphoria universe! So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season."

Zimmer reciprocated the praise in a statement at the time, saying:

"Labrinth's music has shaped the show's identity and I'm looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music."

About Euphoria and Upcoming Season

Launched in 2019, Euphoria follows the lives of a group of American teenagers, exploring themes such as drugs, sex, and identity.

The series has propelled the careers of several young actors who have since become prominent Hollywood figures, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer.

The third season, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled to premiere on 12 April. The storyline will include a time jump, with characters no longer attending high school.
