Joe Cordina arrived at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Tuesday after pleading not guilty to two assault charges.
The former boxing champion, 34, and another man are facing assault charges following an alleged incident outside a petrol station in the Pentwyn area of Cardiff in February 2025.
His co-defendant, Jamie O'Brien, did not enter a plea.
The court has already heard that the charges relate to an incident involving the two men.
A solicitor for Mr Cordina told the brief hearing that the second charge against Mr Cordina was part of the same incident.
The solicitor stressed the need for a trial date, saying the delay was having
“effaith ddinistriol ar yr hyn mae Mr Cordina yn ei wneud orau, sef bocsio”.
Earlier this month, a fight in the United States was cancelled after Mr Cordina was unable to obtain a visa to travel there.
