Spurs Reach Agreement for Tonali Transfer
Tottenham Hotspur have finalized a deal valued at up to £100 million with Newcastle United for the acquisition of midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Previously, Spurs had an offer of approximately £80 million declined by Newcastle. The current agreement includes an initial payment of £92.5 million, with an additional £7.5 million in potential add-ons.
has reported that Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has been a long-standing admirer of the Italian midfielder.
De Zerbi first identified Tonali as a transfer target during his tenure at Sassuolo several years ago, when Tonali was competing in Serie A.
Tottenham are poised to break their club transfer record for the second time within the same week by securing Tonali’s signing, following an £85 million agreement with West Ham United for midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
