Sunderland have finalized a season-long loan arrangement with Tottenham for centre-back Kevin Danso, with the option to purchase him permanently at the conclusion of the deal.
Tottenham initially rejected Sunderland's first loan proposal for the 27-year-old Austria international. However, after fresh negotiations between the two clubs, they have now reached an agreement that will see Danso move to the Stadium of Light.
The transfer became possible following Tottenham's decision to sign centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, 28, from Chelsea. Spurs had previously been reluctant to allow Danso to depart without securing a defensive replacement, but the arrival of Adarabioyo has cleared the way for his departure.
Danso originally joined Spurs on loan from Lens in January 2025, with Tottenham subsequently converting that arrangement into a permanent transfer for £20.9 million later that same year.
