Rangers are nearing a £5m deal to sign Philadelphia Union's South Africa defender Olwethu Makhanya, 22. The Ibrox club could sign Makhanya for £3m, according to the Record. Mohamed Diomande, 24, says he prefers playing with new team-mate Cammy Devlin, 28, than against the former Hearts midfielder.

VAR in Scotland will be able to overturn incorrect second yellow cards after adopting rules brought in during the recent World Cup. In another transfer development, Bodo/Glimt's Denmark forward Kasper Hogh, 25, passed a medical in London on Monday evening and is close to being announced as Celtic's latest signing.
