Premier League newcomers Hull City have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Jack Butland from Rangers, marking their first acquisition of the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper has joined Hull City on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. The transfer fee remains undisclosed. Jack Butland, a nine-time England international, featured prominently for Rangers during the 2025-26 Scottish Premiership season, playing every minute of the campaign and making 55 appearances across all competitions. His tenure at Ibrox spanned three seasons, during which he accumulated 157 appearances.
During his first season with Rangers, Butland contributed to the club's Scottish League Cup victory and earned both the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards.
Prior to his time in Scotland, Butland spent seven years at Stoke City, where he made 77 Premier League appearances. He also competed in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
Early Career and International Experience
Butland made history as England's youngest-ever goalkeeper when he debuted for the senior national team in 2012 at the age of 19.

Hull City secured promotion to the Premier League by defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley in May.
In preparation for the new season and to comply with profit and sustainability regulations, Hull sold goalkeeper Ivor Pandur to Rangers and midfielder Aidon Shehu before the Tuesday transfer deadline, thereby avoiding the risk of a points deduction.
