Hibernian have terminated the employment of head coach David Gray following an underwhelming opening to the campaign.
A defeat on Tuesday to Kilmarnock, who occupy the bottom position in the Scottish Premiership, has left the Edinburgh-based club in ninth place with six points accumulated across six matches.
The loss marked the sixth consecutive defeat at their home ground, Easter Road, with this run of poor results extending back into the previous season.
Assistant coaches Liam Craig and Craig Samson will also depart the club. John Potter has assumed temporary responsibility for the team ahead of Saturday's home fixture against Aberdeen.
Ian Gordon, the club's executive chairman, commented on the decision:
"Ultimately, this is a decision that we have not taken lightly, but unfortunately, one as a board we had to make due to the recent downturn of results and performances."
