Aston Villa have secured the services of 18-year-old Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris St-Germain, with the transfer valued at 55 million euros, equivalent to £47 million.
During the previous season, Mbaye contributed three goals and two assists across 31 appearances in all competitions as PSG retained both their Ligue 1 title and Champions League crown. His performances caught the attention of Villa manager Unai Emery as the club continued its summer recruitment drive.
The teenager featured prominently for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, appearing in all four of the nation's matches in the tournament. He made a significant impact by scoring in a 3-1 defeat to France, a milestone that made him the youngest African player ever to find the net in a men's World Cup.
This acquisition follows Villa's earlier moves in the transfer window. The club recently completed a deal for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson for up to £65 million, which facilitated Ollie Watkins' departure to Saudi Arabia. Villa also secured Swiss midfielder Johan Manzambi from Freiburg amid competition from Newcastle United, addressing midfield reinforcement needs.
Mbaye becomes the latest attacking talent to arrive at Villa Park under Emery's direction, joining fellow recent signings Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson as the club strengthens its forward options ahead of the new season.
