Rachin Ravindra struck 98 from 44 balls and took a decisive wicket as Welsh Fire beat MI London by 15 runs in Cardiff to continue their winning start in the men's Hundred at Sophia Gardens. Fire posted 167-5 from 100 balls, with Ravindra hitting seven sixes in a match-winning 116-run partnership with Joe Root.
Root made 29 from 26 balls, anchoring the innings after Welsh Fire lost openers Phil Salt and Matt Short early and slipped to 25-2 at the end of the powerplay. Ravindra led the recovery, reaching his half century from just 22 balls and launching his biggest six off Tom Curran, with the ball going out of the ground.
He was on track to challenge the Hundred's fastest century, which belongs to Harry Brook's 41-ball effort in 2023, but he was starved of the strike late in the innings and fell with two balls remaining. MI London replied with 152-6 from 100 balls, with James Vince scoring 66 from 38 balls and Lockie Ferguson taking 4-27 for Fire.
Ravindra also influenced the chase by dismissing Vince when the target was still in sight. He took a brilliant diving catch off his own bowling to remove the set batter for 68 from 38 balls, leaving MI London needing 46 from 28 balls with Sherfane Rutherford still in the middle.
Fire's seamers then closed out the win, with Ferguson leading the attack by removing Jason Roy, Sam Curran and Nicholas Pooran in the middle order. The result capped a successful day for Welsh Fire after the women's side also won comprehensively earlier in the afternoon.
How did Sunrisers Leeds beat Southern Brave?
Mitchell Marsh starred with the bat as Sunrisers Leeds claimed their first win of The Hundred, beating Southern Brave by five runs at Headingley. Sunrisers, who began the 2026 campaign with a seven-wicket defeat by MI London, recovered with a hard-fought victory, while Brave remain winless after two matches.
Asked to bat first, Marsh and Ryan Rickelton gave Sunrisers a rapid start, with Marsh reaching a blistering half-century in only 26 balls. The Australian was dangerous from the outset and capitalised fully on a wayward set from Luke Wood, which went for 28 runs and included four free hits, as Sunrisers raced to 102 without loss at the halfway stage of the innings.
Adil Rashid then slowed the scoring by taking three wickets in the following set, including Marsh for 69 from 34 balls.

Dan Lawrence ensured the home side finished strongly with a 24-ball half-century, while Tom Alsop added a rapid 21 as they posted 187-5. Southern Brave’s reply began strongly through Ben McKinney, who made 44 from 23 balls, while fellow opener Jamie Smith scored 30 from 18 balls to leave the visitors well placed at 80-2 after 46 balls.
Marcus Stoinis then added further momentum to the chase, smashing 31 from 16 balls with four fours and a six before falling to Sunrisers spinner Abrar Ahmed, who finished with 2-33. Tristan Stubbs kept Brave in contention with an unbeaten 43 from 20 balls, but disciplined bowling from Nathan Ellis and Brydon Carse in the closing stages secured a narrow win for Sunrisers.
